RZD to Buy 82 EMU Cars in 2016
OAO RZD is to buy 82 multiple unit cars in 2016, the Interfax quotes the rail operator. The EMUs would be bought from Demikhovo Mechanical Works. The company would buy ED9E and ED4M EMUs. In 2015 OAO RZD acquired in total of 70 EMU cars: 64 ED9E cars (15 trains) and 6 cars (2 rail buses). Demikhovo Mechnical Works and Metrovagonmash supplied the rolling stock. Brunswick Rail to Announce a Tender for Freight Car Repair
Brunswick Rail is to announce a tender for repairing its cars, the Interfax reports. The company owns 25,700 freight cars. The potential bidder has to have experience of working with not less than 10,000 cars and having freight car repair contracts with at least two OAO RZD subsidiaries. Bidders have to have software to monitor freight car repair and comply with human resources requirements (Chief Engineer and at least three technicians). Bidder have to be ISO 9001 certified.

RZD to Buy 121 Electric Locos in 2016

OAO RZD Vice President Victor Stepov was dismissed from his position. Another OAO RZD Vice President Alexey Vorotilkin resigned. KTZ Installed 400 Electric Drives for Switch Point Machines

Tender for High-Speed Rolling Stock to Be Held in December 2016
The tender for supplying the rolling stock for the Moscow - Kazan high-speed mainline is scheduled for December 2016, the RIA Novosti quotes the schedule approved by the Russian Government. Government Expects 50,000 Freight Cars Manufactured in 2016
The Russian Government expects that 45,000 - 50,000 freight cars would be manufactured in 2016, the TASS quotes Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. The Government earlier banned life extension for freight cars.
