

Ukraine Produced 320 Freight Cars in Q1 2016
Ukrainian Ministry of Economy reported quarterly results on freight car manufacturing, the RZD-Partner reports. In Q1 2016 Ukraine manufactured 320 freight cars (+30% to Q1 2015). In 2015 Ukraine manufactured in total of 1,100 cars. In its peak years (2009 - 2010) in total of 8,000 - 10,000 freight cars were built.


Krasnoyarsk Needs 1 B USD to Complete Metro Construction
Completion of the metro construction in Krasnoyarsk is to cost 60 - 70 B RUB (0.92 - 1,08 B USD), the TASS quotes Krasnoyarsk Krai Governor Victor Tolokonsky. 80% of Russian Rail Freight Carried on 20% of Infrastructure
Around 80% of all the rail freight in Russia is transported on 20% of the infrastructure, the RZD-Partner quotes Sergey Tugarinov, Deputy Head of OAO RZD Transport Service Center. He made this statement at the TransRussia International Exhibition. “The transportation system was established in the Soviet times and was designed for the manufacturing capacities of those days”, Mr. Tugarinov said. “It does not correspond to the current freight turnover logic”.


EMU Localization to Increase Russian Suppliers Earnings by 22 M USD

Ukrainian Loco Fleet is 70 - 96% Worn
The Ukrainian diesel locomotive fleet is 95.7% worn, the RZD-Partner quotes Ukrainian Railways. Faulty locomotive hold a 40%+ share in the total fleet - over 800 sections out of 2,100. The electric locomotive fleet wear exceeds 70% with 30% of faulty locomotives (500 sections out of 1,700).

Wojciech Balczun Appointed Ukrainian Railways Chairman

OAO RZD recalculated the amount of the Moscow - Kazan high-speed railway, the RBC reports. The total budget rose to 1.2 T RUB (18 B USD). Moscow Oblast to Launch Light Rail by 2028
Moscow Oblast Ministry of Transport expects to launch its first light rail line, the Izvestia reports. The line is to link Podolsk, Domodedovo Airport, Zhukovsky Airport and Ramenskoe. In June 2016 the Moscow Oblast Government is to announce a tender for design, construction and operation of the light rail line. The project amount is estimated at 139 B RUB.
