China is to invest into Samara airport shuttle line, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. A respective memorandum of cooperation was signed by Samara Oblast Governor Nikolai Merkushkin and China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC). The airport shuttle line is to be constructed for the 2018 Football World Cup to be held in Russia. “It is important to have speed operation by 2018”, Mr. Merkushkin said. “A lot of players and guests will come to Samara”. OAO RZD is to invest 332 M RUB into Armenian Railways (5 M USD), the RZD-Partner reports. The company has already invested 13.7 B RUB into Armenian rail transport in 2008 - 2015. OAO RZD signed a concession contract with Armenia in 2008, under which the management over the Armenian rail transport was handed over to OAO RZD. The national railway is now managed by South-Caucasian Railway (YuKZhD), OAO RZD subsidiary.
Sakhalin is choosing a multiple unit supplier, the Gudok reports. The trains might be supplied by Transmashholding, Ural Locomotives or Stadler. Sakhalin Passenger Company (Sakhalin multiple unit operator, fully owned by RZD), is to take a decision together with Sakhalin Government. Sakhalin’s fleet is nearly 30 years old. The peninsula operates D-2 DMUs manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries especially for Sakhalin narrow gauge (1067 mm). The life of the DMUs expire in 2018.

Tver Car-Building Plant (TVZ) signed contracts for 118 passenger coaches, the TASS reports. The coaches will be supplied to Federal Passenger Company (FPK) and Roszheldorsnab. All the coaches will be single-decker. FPK is to get 112 coaches by October 2016 while Roszheldorsnab is to receive 6 coaches by September 2016. The amount of the contract is not disclosed.
The Russian Government approved regulations of offering budget subsidies for freight car acquisition, the Kommersant reports. Subsidies will be offered in case innovative and deficit freight cars are acquired; no bonus on scrapping an obsolete car is to be offered. GE and Bombardier will provide their locomotives to Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsya) for test operation, the RZD-Partner quotes Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Vladimir Omelyan. “Such manufacturers as General Electric and Bombardier will bring their locomotives to Ukraine in the next months so that they are operated at the Ukrainian Railways for 3 - 6 months”, he said. Russia may be more attractive to Hyperloop than the United States, Russian tycoon Ziyavutdin Magomedov said in his interview to RZD-Partner. Earlier Mr. Magomedov’s Caspian VC Partners invested in the Hyperloop project. “Russia, as the core of the Eurasian transport and logistic system, has to develop new transport and logistic routes”, Mr. Magomedov said. “Hyperloop is highly prospective and required as a new transport.
