Tender for High-Speed Rolling Stock to Be Held in December 2016

The tender for supplying the rolling stock for the Moscow - Kazan high-speed mainline is scheduled for December 2016, the RIA Novosti quotes the schedule approved by the Russian Government. The schedule was approved on January 13, 2016 and published yesterday.

In compliance with the schedule, the manufacture of the rolling stock is to be commissioned in December 2019. At least 70 - 80% of the components have to be localized (sourced / manufactured in Russia).

OAO RZD First Vice President Alexander Misharin earlier said that in total of 29 trans will be initially bought for the project. Further on up to 100 high-speed trains will be acquired and operated in Russia.
