KTZ Installed 400 Electric Drives for Switch Point Machines
Kazakhstan Railway (Kazakstan Temir Zholy, KTZ) has installed 400 electrically-driven switch point machines, KTZ reports. The drives are manufactured in Kazakhstan.
The company aims at both improving operational safety and localizing manufacture of critical components. “The key advantage of the R80 electric drive is a function allowing control of the switch point contact with the rail, which means that monthly checks are no longer necessary”, Batyr Kotyrev, Director of KTZ Signaling Dept., said.
