CPPK to Buy 45 DMU Trains by 2018 - 2019

Central Transit Passenger Company (CPPK) will need to buy 45 DMU trains by 2018 - 2019, the Interfax quotes CPPK General Director Mikhail Khromov.
“To renew the DMU rolling stock fleet, we will need around 45 trains by 2018 - 2019”, Mr. Khromov said. CPPK has already acquired the DP-M DMU train. “However, we need to commission the first train and try it in operation, see what passengers’ opinion about it would be”, Mr. Khromov noted.
The five-car DP-M DMU train was designed and manufactured by Metrovagonmash. The power equipment was sourced from Stadler and, for the first time in Russia, located in a separate traction module, not under the car.
CPPK is Russia’s largest transit operator. The company is co-owned by OOO MPK (50% - two shares), OAO RZD (25% + 1 share) and Moscow Oblast (25% + 1 share).
Metrovagonmash is Russia’s largest metro train manufacturer. The company also manufactures rail buses and DMUs. Metrovagonmash is owned by Transmashholding.
