Ukraine to Radically Change Management of the Rail Industry

Ukraine is to establish a new management system for the rail industry, the RZD-Partner reports. A respective clause is part of the Ukrainian Government’s Priorities Plan for 2016.

Ukrainian Railways would get a “new management model for the rail industry ensuring equal access to the rail infrastructure and due execution of the governmental management functions”.

Market will be the core of the system: “Rigid governmental regulation will not allow establishing competitive environment, limit private operators’ access to the rail transportation market and will not provide for flexible tariff systems”, the Priorities Plan reads.
