RZD to Develop Artificial Intellect-Based Systems

OAO RZD will be developing systems based on artificial intellect, the RZD-Partner quotes OAO RZD Senior Vice President Valentin Gapanovich. He made this statement at the International Conference “Railway Machine-Building 1520 and 1435”.

“We are starting this work with Ural Locomotives and are planning to equip one locomotive with such [AI] system”, Mr. Gapanovich said.

Furthermore, OAO RZD is looking to establish precise coordinate location for infrastructure with the Toporail system. “All the data needs to be digitized to improve efficiency of the railway design and construction. This will allow us improving the locomotive automatic steering systems and, in particular, establishing the ground for operator-free locomotive steering”, Mr. Gapanovich said.
