Russian Rail Industrial Cluster to Get Federal Funding


Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade is to provide federal subsidies to the industrial cluster established in Moscow and Tver Oblasts, the Gudok reports. The cluster is to design and manufacture systems and components for railway rolling stock.

The resident companies of the industrial cluster is to manufacture automatic doors, AC drives and braking systems for metro cars and rail buses. In particular, the cluster expects to design Russian bogie braking systems, which is “important from the point of view of metro safety as well as increasing localization in Russia”, the Ministry reports.

The industrial cluster was co-established by Moscow and Tver Oblasts in summer 2016. The cluster was joined by Tver Car-Building Plant, Tsentrosvarmash, ELPROM, TIV, Vagonkomplekt, Transportation Technologies.
