Ukrainian Railways to Buy 70 Passenger Coaches in 2017

Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsya) is to proceed buying passenger coaches, the RZD-Partner reports. The operator is to acquire 70 new coaches in 2017.

It is to be the Ukrainian Railways’ largest acquisition of passenger coaches since 2008 when it bought 180 coaches. The rolling stock is to be built by Kryukovsky Car-Building Plant (KVSZ), Ukraine’s only passenger coach manufacturer.

“Ukrzaliznytsya is a powerful company and its large orders will give a powerful impetus to the national economy development”, Ukrainian Railways’ Chairman Wojciech Balczun commented.
