Belarus Railway Acquired 18 Electric Locomotives from China

Belarus Railway acquired 18 electric locomotives from Datong Electric Locomotive Building Plant, the RZD-Partner reports. The locomotives will be delivered to Belarus in 2016 - 2017.

Two BKG2 electric locomotives have already been supplied to Belarus. These are single-section freight electric locomotives rated at 7,200 kW.

Earlier Belarus Railway has already bought locomotives from China - these were BKG1 double-section freight electric locomotives rated at 9,600 kW. The operator is satisfied with these locomotives.

“All the maintenance of the BKG1 electric locomotives is provided by the Baranovichi Locomotive Depot”, Belarus Railway Press Service commented. “The depot has all the necessary equipment, the depot personnel got the necessary training”.
